For Stills
I’m shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II. My lenses are a 14mm f2.8 wide angle, 24-105mm f4 zoom, 35mm f2 prime, 50mm f1.4 prime, 85mm f1.8 prime and a 70-200mm f2.8 zoom. My flash units are seven 600EX-RTs, a 550EX and two 420EXs. I have three 2’ x 2’ and one 2′ Hex Speedlite softboxes as well as many small softboxes. I also have many other modifiers and reflectors.
My backgrounds are a 5′ x 7′ White, Black, Light Gray, Eminence or Green Screen, a 9′ x 20′ Black and an 8′ x 16′ White. For small product photography I use a 2′ x 2′ x 3′ Light Shed.
For Video
I’m shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II into an Atomos Ninja 2 allowing me to record ProRes 4.2.2 as well as NDxHD. My lenses are a 14mm f2.8 wide angle, 24-105mm f4 zoom, 35mm f2 prime, 50mm f1.4 prime, 50mm f1.8 prime, 85mm f1.8 prime and a 70-200mm f2.8 zoom. I have many close-up kits for each of the different sized lenses I have, some up to 10+. For run and gun video shooting, I use a Steadicam stabilizer attached to an arm and vest. I also have a motorized focus and zoom shoulder rig. For stationary shooting I’m using a Manfrotto 502HD Fluid Head and 546B Tripod. I have a Manfrotto Dolly for the aforementioned tripod. I’m using a CamRanger which allows me to do wireless follow focus. My audio equipment includes a 4 channel Tascam recorder, a Rode VideoMic Pro Compact shotgun, a Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro, a Vidpro shotgun as well as single and dual lavalier mics. I also have a 7 ½’ boom pole with a pass through XLR. For lighting I have two 312 LED panels, two 204 LED panels, one 256 LED panel, and an ikan Micro Spot On-Camera Light.
The Ninja 2 allows me to record continuously, overcoming the 12 or 34 minute native time limitation of the 5D. All of my equipment, including the 5D can be powered by AC so my only time limitation is the size of my hard drives 🙂
I’m constantly adding new equipment to the mix.
